The Northeast Study Group of the Atlanta Beltline is hosting an update on construction and design of the Northeast Trail, according to a press release.

The event takes place 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 14. It will be held virtually over the Zoom platform. Attendees can participate online or by calling in.

Construction is set to continue on the Northeast Trail next to Ansley Mall.

When complete, the Northeast Trail will connect the northern end of the Eastside Trail up to the Lindbergh MARTA station. However, only a 0.8-mile stretch is open to the public in an interim state on the eastern edge of Piedmont Park. In its interim state, the trail has a rough and bumpy surface of compacted railroad gravel and dirt.

Attendees are asked to submit questions no later than noon Wednesday, May 13 to engage@atlbeltline.org.

Organizers will take as many questions as they can on Zoom and Facebook Live during the allotted time. Sending questions in advance is the best way to ensure your question will be covered, according to event organizers.
