The cities of of Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody are teaming up to plan the future of their region.

Called the Peachtree Gateway Partnership, government and business leaders in these cities agreed to create a strategic plan that sets priorities for the area, possibly including a trail network and other quality of life improvements.

These cities already include major transportation hubs: three MARTA rail stations, DeKalb-Peachtree Airport and the I-285 and I-85 interchange.

“So many neighboring communities around the Atlanta region are working together for the good of their larger area,” said Chamblee Mayor Eric Clarkson, the chairman of the partnership. “We realized that we could be more successful if we join forces to promote the many strengths and assets we share.”

The Atlanta Regional Commission, the official planning agency for the 10-county Atlanta region, is assisting the partnership.
