Gwinnett is arguing yet again for the dismissal of a minority voting rights lawsuit filed against it more than a year ago.

Last week, the county filed a new motion to dismiss the August 2016 lawsuit filed by the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials and the Georgia NAACP. The suit argues that the way Gwinnett's county commission and school board districts are drawn dilutes the influence of minority voters.

Gwinnett has more minority residents than white ones but has never had a non-white candidate elected to the commission or school board.
