Gwinnett County spends $1.3 million to improve two intersections

Gwinnett County will spend $1.3 million on safety improvements at two intersections.

The county Board of Commissioners awarded the contract to Matriarch Construction Co. for work at the intersections of Singleton Road and Tech Drive and Spout Springs Road at Doc Hughes Road.

The company will add pedestrian crossings the Singleton Road intersection. Doc Hughes Road will be relocated and get a northbound turn lane. The projects also include drainage improvements, handicapped-accessible ramps and new sidewalks.

Gwinnett County Transportation Director Alan Chapman said to work will improve safety and traffic flow in both areas.
