The identity of the infant killed in a Wednesday afternoon crash in Douglas County — as well as that of the driver accused of causing the incident — have been released.

According to an incident report released Thursday by the Georgia State Patrol, the infant killed in the crash on the exit ramp from Interstate 20 westbound to Liberty Road was 8-month-old Langston Stobridge. The driver who is accused of causing the crash was identified as 46-year-old Douglasville resident Scott Bearden Raymond.

Raymond was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run incident near Ga. 5 while traveling west on I-20, and then tried to exit at Liberty Road. On the ramp, he struck another vehicle in which a mother was traveling with two children, the state patrol said.

The baby now identified as Stobridge died after being taken to Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica with his injured mother. A 12-year-old child was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite with injuries.Raymond was also injured, the state patrol said. The driver in the initial hit and run was not hurt.

Charges are pending according to the state patrol.
