Four Gwinnett County students have some of their work on display in New York City after earning awards in a nationwide arts competition.

The nonprofit Alliance for Young Artists & Writers picked the Gwinnett students for the 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a recognition program for students in grades 7 through 12.

The students are Cadie Crew, who was a senior at Mill Creek High School, Phu Nguyen, who was a senior at Norcross High School, Savana Ogburn, a rising junior at Grayson High School, and Jenna Still, who was a senior at Brookwood High School.

Crow won a silver medal for a drawing titled “Clowning Around”, Nguyen won a gold medal for a drawing titled “City of Atlantis”, Ogburn won a gold medal for her photography titled “Tulle Expansions” and Still won a silver medal for a ceramics and glass piece titled “Fundens Ad Angulum.”

The work is on display until June 14 at the “Art.Write.Now. 2014 National Exhibition.”

As part of the honor, recognized students are eligible for scholarship opportunities.
