Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault at Emory Johns Creek Hospital earlier this month.

An 81-year-old woman said she was sexually assaulted by a staff member at Emory Johns Creek Hospital during a massage, authorities said.

The woman told Channel 2 Action News she had broken her leg, which is why she was being treated at the hospital earlier this month.

On June 12 about midnight, her female personal caregiver allegedly sexually assaulted her in her hospital bed. AJC.com does not identify alleged victims of sexual assault.

“Don’t know who she was, where she was from, what she was doing there, and she molested me,” the woman told Channel 2. “I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t get up.”

Johns Creek police Maj. John Clifton confirmed to AJC.com that investigators are still looking into the incident, but no other details about the investigation were available.

The hospital sent Channel 2 a statement that said, in part: “Emory Johns Creek Hospital working with the local police to further investigate this matter. Because of patient privacy laws, we cannot comment on individual patients.”
