Gwinnett County police are seeking the man who carjacked a family at gunpoint outside a hair salon in the Stone Mountain area.

The incident happened Friday at Treat’s Beauty in the 2100 block of Rockbridge Road, according to the incident report.

The female victim told police that the car, a 2006 Chevy Impala, was outside the salon with the driver’s door open, the keys in the ignition and the engine running, police said. She went outside when she saw the man around the car, and the suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at her husband, who was outside with their 2-year-old son.

He began to get in the car, and when she tried to stop him, he pointed the gun at her, police said. She dropped to the ground, afraid he would shoot her.

“Imma need this car,” the suspect kept repeating.

He eventually drove away, although it’s not clear in which direction.

He is described as 20 or 21 years old, with dark dreads pulled into a ponytail. He also had multiple facial tattoos, one of a cross, according to the report.
