A convicted sex offender was arrested in Hall County after he failed to stop for multiple traffic violations, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Savalas Netran Hill, 42, of Gainesville, was taken into custody Tuesday at Holly Springs Road at Skitts Mountain Road, Lt. Scott Ware said.

Hill had been charged with failure to register as a sex offender on Oct. 31, Ware said. He was convicted of rape in Barrow County.

Hill had less than an ounce of marijuana when he was arrested, Ware said.

Other charges against him include DUI and driving with an expired license. He is in the Hall County jail.
