The GBI has released the names of the mother and child found shot to death Monday on the front steps of their Fannin County apartment.

Authorities say 31-year-old Amber Jackson and her 3-year-old son Ethan were discovered dead outside their Underwood Road home by Fannin deputies.

According to the GBI, the two were shot by Amber Jackson’s boyfriend, Joshua Lee Fults, 35, who then turned the gun on himself.

Fults was discovered on the porch of the home and taken to a nearby medical facility, where he remains in critical condition, the GBI said Tuesday.

An arrest warrant has been issued charging Fults with the murder of Amber Jackson, the GBI said, but additional charges are expected.
