Atlantic Station is offering something for everyone and their furry friends this holiday season. Today, the first German Christkindl outdoor market opens and visitors can shop for authentic food and gift items. Throughout the holidays, Santa and his helpers will stop by for photos with kids and pets. And family and friends can take a spin on the ice rink. There's more. Check out the listings below.
Christkindl Market: For the first time, a German Christkindl Market in Central Park is part of Atlantic Station's holiday festivities. Shop at this free outdoor event, which features a Christmas village of wooden booths selling imported German chocolate confectioneries, pastries and marzipan and gingerbread; handmade Christmas ornaments; and one-of-a-kind gift items now through Dec. 24.
Santa's Cottage: Kids can bring their wish lists, take photos and enjoy story time with Santa. There's an event for furry friends too! Activities and times are listed below. For events that require reservations, visit atlanticstation.com or the concierge center at Atlantic Station:
- 10-11 a.m. Dec. 3, story time with Santa. Reservations required.
- 10 a.m. – noon Dec. 4, Santa Cares for special needs kids. Reservations required.
- 6-8 p.m. Dec. 4, 11 and 18, pet photos with Santa.
- 9:30-11 a.m. Dec. 10, breakfast with Santa at Meehan's Public House.
Snow Shows: Take a snowy walk through Central Park and experience "snowfall" and holiday music Sunday through Thursday at 7 p.m. as well as every hour on the hour from 6-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday now through Jan. 1.
Snowball Express: Throughout the holiday season, kids of all ages can hop aboard a special holiday train ride throughout the streets of Atlantic Station from 2-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 2-9 p.m. Friday; and 1-9 p.m. Saturday. Prices vary.
Skate Atlantic Station: Lace up and take laps around an ice rink decked out in colorful lights now through Feb. 14. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; noon – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and noon – 9 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $13; for children under 12 years old, seniors, military and college students' admission is $10.
