The new Atlanta Journal-Constitution calendar is a self-service operation. You can post your event in your own words. You own the event and can make any changes you want at any time.

To post your event 1. Go to accessatlanta.com/getstarted and click on “register with us.”

2. Fill out the registration form. When you are done, you will be taken to the home page.

3. Click on “add a listing” in the upper right. Click on “find your event” to see if it is already in the system. If it is not, create your event, using the form provided. You will receive email notification when your event is approved. All approved events will be posted online at accessAtlanta.com. For print calendars, events are used at the discretion of the editors and as space allows.

Celebrating veterans: With an evening filled with patriotic songs, special presentations, a slideshow and a 12-bell salute, Tabernacle International Church will honor and remember hundreds of men and women who have and continue to serve America today. Everyone is invited to attend the celebration at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10. Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniform or some insignia indicating their branch of the service. Story of friendship: Two best friends plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons in the performance, "A Year With Frog and Toad." Held at the St. James United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, the performance is based on Arnold Lobel's book series and celebrates the differences that make the central characters and their animal friends special. Scholarship concert: Featuring local and national gospel artists, the Salem Missionary Baptist Church will host the "Praising with a Purpose" benefit concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 to support the Warren JeMarcus Williams Scholarship Foundation. Part educational, the event will bring awareness to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a sudden death syndrome which struck Warren while he was playing basketball. "We established [this] foundation in an effort to turn a tragic event into one that blesses others and honors the memory of our son," said Cynthia Williams, Warren's mother, co-chair of the scholarship foundation and member of Salem Baptist Church. 5k run/walk for a cause: Woolsey Baptist Church will host its fourth annual 5k for Missions run/walk at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. This USA Track & Field certified race offers fun elements like door prizes, race day swag items and post-race Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. An award ceremony will be held after the race.
