If you missed jumping into a frigid lake on New Years Day, fear not.

The 19th Annual Polar Bear Plunge has been rescheduled, beginning at noon on Feb. 6 at Clarks Bridge Park, 3105 Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville.

The event, which is sure to make your voical range go a few octaves higher, involves dozens of folks taking a plunge into a chilly Lake Lanier.

It’s either held on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

The Polar Bear Plunge, which raises money for the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club, was postponed earlier this month due to flooding and accessibility issues.

This year the theme is “Polar Bear if you dare… Chicken if you scare, either way a T-shirt to show you care.”

Brave ones can strut around with a white T-shirt with a polar bear and “I dared” on the front. The chickens—new this year—will receive a yellow t-shirt with chickens and the words, “I scared.”

Refreshments will be served as awards are announced for such best jump, best splash, oldest jumper, youngest jumper and best costume.

There will also be onsite registration.
