Six hundred students, professors and other employees of Clark Atlanta University brought an early Christmas to 400 children in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The grownups donated gifts for each child at Atlanta Preparatory Academy, a tuition-free K-7 charter school for Atlanta students. They also sang carols. The kids performed, too.

"It was mutual entertainment," said CAU spokesman Larry Calhoun. The "Christmas at CAU" is an annual tradition. It took place Thursday at CAU's Bishop Cornelius L. Henderson Student Center multipurpose room.
