While summer sun may be a few weeks away for some, that's not stopping the American Academy of Dermatology, or AAD, from raising awareness about skin cancer.

The first Monday of May, in this case May 2, is National Melanoma Monday according to nationaldaycalendar.com.

Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer, according to the AAD.

The day is marked by the AAD wanting users of social media to post what they are doing to make sure their skin is "Looking Good in 2016," using the hashtag #LookingGoodIn2016.
