NASCAR fans have spoken.

The wide miles and worn asphalt that wrap around the Atlanta Motor Speedway make for one of the best high-speed racing experiences in the country.

USA Today has nominated the metro Atlanta NASCAR track, one of 32 tracks in North America, in its 10Best Reader's Choice Best NASCAR Track poll . Readers are invited to cast votes from now until July 17 for the pro-level track that gets their motor revved. As of June 20, Atlanta Motor Speedway ranks No. 7 out of the 20 nominees. AMS, a 1.5 oval track in Hampton, Georgia, plays host to the NASCAR Cup Series, and for several years hosted the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series annually on Labor Day weekend.

USA Today’s Matthew Henson, a racing enthusiast, said this of the Atlanta Motor Speedway:

"(AMS) has the widest surface of any mile and a half circuit under NASCAR jurisdiction but that doesn't stop the racing from being as hectic as any short track out there. The turns may be a mile wide but the surface is nearly two decades old and grip is hard to come by. A high speed game of slip and slide is what ensues when the green flag drops and cars take off three and four wide into turn one."
