Navigating the evolving Atlanta art scene can be a bit tricky, but noshing among the culturally savvy and artistically inclined can make your art stroll through the city a bit more smooth.

That's where ArtsATL, an Atlanta non-profit arts publication comes in. "Lawn-ch" into the summer art scene with the ArtsATL Lawn Party from 3- 6 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at Historic Oakland Cemetery, 248 Oakland Ave. SE.
This year will also be the kick-off of ArtsATL's Luminary Award nominations. You'll have a chance to nominate anyone that you've found inspiring or accomplished throughout the year.
What better way to celebrate all great things happening than at a jamboree in one of Atlanta's most historic cemeteries?
There will be games, food, and music in an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere −one Atlanta's most revered historic cemeteries. It's a free event, but there is a VIP package for $38 available here.

Forget the lawn chairs
Get ready for some competition, friendly competition that is, when you arrive. Brutal.Studio is providing the lawn games that will be sure to have everyone laughing and playing along.
Prepare your sickest dance moves
If you need a drink or two before you can let loose and boogie, do so. The music, curated by Deer Bear Wolf, includes Goldyard, Twin Studies, and Pamela_and her sons on the lineup −assuring a rocking good time well into the evening.
Bring your kiddos
The tiniest art lovers among us will have a blast at the interactive kids zone, provided by the High Museum of Art, based on their current exhibition "Painter and Poet: The Wonderful World of Ashley Bryan." As for the young adult crowd, WonderRoot will be leading Activist Print Making. You can print your own poster or tote to take home. A big thanks to Kroger for presenting the Kids Zone at this lawn affair − as long as the kids are smiling and having fun, everyone is having a great time.

Make sure to save your appetite for this one. Food from friends at 97 Estoria, The Good Food Truck, Peace Of Pita, and beverages from Tito's Handmade Vodka will keep you feeling refreshed and hydrated.

Have you wondered where the cities art is heading? Hear from a plethora of Atlanta city council and mayoral candidates about their arts platforms. The panel wi;; include such mayoral candidates as Kwanza Hall, Peter Aman, Cathy Woolard, Mary Norwood, Michael T. Sterling and city council candidates Alex Wan, Cleta Winslow, Liliana Bakhtiari and Amir Farokhi.
There's already over 1,000 people interested in attending via the event's Facebook page, so it's destined to be one of the summer's hottest art events.
