Happy Father’s Day. Now don’t forget to drop off the kids, do the shopping, pick up the kids, get ‘em to the doctor’s, read the bedtime stories and along the way, you might wanna put in a couple hours at the office (y’know, so those paychecks keep coming and the kids can keep eating).

It’s what a working single mother does, after all.

But for Father’s Day, we might consider for a moment, the plight and the burden of the Only Parental Unit in the Place on the other side of the ledger and see where we stack up.

And, the answer, says a calculation from the folks at WalletHub is: Not well.

Georgia ranks in bottom ten. Ninth-worst, says the analysis. The Washington-based outfit – which produces lists like the Braves produce losses – took a look at 20 key metrics, ranging from the quality of child care to life expectancy for guys. They went through the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The world of the single dad in Georgia isn’t consistently awful. Just mostly. The percent of men who say they get enough exercise? We ranked 27th, only a little below average. But on some other metrics, we did far worse:

Male life expectancy at birth – 41st

Mortality rate due to heart disease – 35th

Uninsured men – 46th

Average number of hours worked in a day – 33rd

Rate of prostate cancer – 44th.
