Steve Harvey, the consummate entertainer, gave nearly 10,000 people at the Georgia World Congress Center a show Friday morning, bringing in a raft of celebrities and sponsors such as Ford and State Farm.

And while the heavily female audience was well behaved, sitting in their seats politely, for much of the four hours, there were exceptions. When actor/singer Tyrese Gibson arrived for a surprise visit, women practically fell over each other to get close to the stage, smartphones aloft, selfie sticks in the air.

At one point, Harvey got spiritual. "I am a product of God's grace," he said. "He has done me favors!" He repeated the line, "Don't give up!"

"You do your work," he added. "You don't even know if you're reaching poeple. I just go in and do this radio show. I try to do some of what God asked me to do." He said some Christians criticize him for cussing.

He said in the "Army of the Lord," he is a "shooter."

"You cuss me out, I'll cuss you back," he said. "I'm going to be a punk ass Christian!"

The expo portion of the weekend Neighborhood Awards, which runs through Sunday, features a health pavilion, sponsor spots, vendors galore and a college fair.  The awards itself is tomorrow night at Philips Arena.
