Season 6 "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks tried to put a bright smile on the face of her break-up with singer Jason DeRulo on "The Wendy Williams Show" this morning.

“I’m good, really no really, I’m good. I know you think that I’m not good but really, I’m good.”

“It might not seem it now because you’re only 24 year old and you spent three years together," Wendy said.  "You might not feel it now but this is one of the best things that could happen to you."

Jordin replied, “Well thank you, I think I’m starting to feel it!”

Wendy: "This gives you a chance to get to know you a little bit more, date around.”

Jordin agreed saying, “I’m excited!"

When talking about the pressure to get married and Jason’s “Marry Me” music video Jordin admitted, “Hey listen, we set ourselves up for that.” On rumors that Jason was unfaithful in the relationship, Jordin told Wendy, “I actually don't want to comment on that.”

A New York Times magazine story about Clay Aiken wasn't nearly as interesting as the one in the Washington Post but you can read it here.

You won't sing on the campaign trail. Are you worried that people will think you're a lightweight? I do recognize that there is a challenge in getting people to see me as a candidate, as a public servant, as a leader. To a lot of people, I'm still that 24-year-old from "Idol." So many folks tell me, "Oh, wow, you're a lot older than I thought you were."

So far so good for Kat McPhee's new show "Scorpion." It held up well on CBS for its second episode. Here's how a fellow TV writer denizen I know Daniel Fienberg conveyed it. (Feinberg and I had a really strange conversation with Steve Guttenberg once at the Television Critics Association back in 2006 or so.)

I only follow "The Voice" when Atlantans are involved and there are now three: Clara Hong (Adam Levine's team); Jean Kelley (Gwen Stefani's team) and James David Carter (Blake Shelton's team). The early blind auditions are almost over.  Here they are:

Three judges turned around for Clara Hong almost immediately while she crooned the old Rickie Lee Jones song "Chuck E's In Love."

James David Carter, who was once part of the house band for Cowboys and opened for Blake Shelton in his earlier days. He got all four judges to turn around within 20 seconds by covering a Tony Rich song "Nobody Knows."

Jean Kelley tackled Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone." The judges held back until near the end when she hit some pretty high notes. Ultimately, Blake and Gwen turned around and she picked Gwen.
