Number of working days left until the end of the 2015 session: 10
After an extra-long weekend to recover from a surprisingly uneventful Crossover Day, lawmakers will begin the final slog to the finish line.
They'll be starting slow. The House will start at 1 p.m., with four resolutions on the calendar, including H.R 303, which urges the state Department of Education to implement a "comprehensive civics education curricula." The Senate calendar is even lighter, with one bill HB 211, relating to the definition of "dangerous drugs," and a resolution designating December 10 "Georgia's Day of Coding."
In committees, the House Education committee will take up the governor’s plan to take over failing schools. Senate committees will continue to dramatically rework key House bills, including the $21.8 billion budget.
