Jim Galloway, the newspaper’s political columnist, has been a writer and editor at the AJC for 41 years. Many of metro Atlanta’s streets and byways are named after prominent political figures, alive and dead. Galloway has known many of them. Maybe most of them. In past decades, he has covered religion, steered the newspaper’s 1992 presidential coverage, and run the AJC foreign desk. He created the AJC’s Political Insider blog, one of the South’s most influential political news sites. His longer relationship of choice is to his wife Judy. They have two grown, successful daughters and a dog who has ambitions of one day climbing a tree.
