HOUSTON - It’s no secret that Ludacris is an unabashed Atlanta Falcons supporter.
He performed at halftime during the Dirty Birds' takedown of the Seattle Seahawks on Jan. 15 and returned the following week to play the final halftime show at the Georgia Dome as the Falcons sliced through the Green Bay Packers on their way to Super Bowl 51.
Luda will be in Houston later this week to perform with fellow ATLien Big Boi at Funplex Entertainment at 8 p.m. Friday. Dubbed the “ATL Invasion,” the show will also feature DJ Don Cannon.
If you're going to be in town for the game, tickets start at $40 and can be purchased here.
But whether you’re rooting for the Falcons from your couch in Alpharetta or from the upper decks of NRG Stadium, you’ll want to grab a tissue before watching this video narrated by the Atlanta rapper.
The stirring 2 1/2-minute clip produced specifically for the Atlanta Falcons is called “A City Waits” and is told from the vantage point of the city of Atlanta.
“Half a century I have waited without glory, yet here I am…I’ve survived turmoil, for the better…I’ve hosted the world’s greatest…I’ve enjoyed the show, but I live in brotherhood…Now, days away, is the wait finally over?”
Let’s hope so, Luda. Let’s hope so.
