Some local David Bowie fans have arranged a parade/walk this weekend to celebrate the singer’s life.

The Facebook gathering dubbed “Bowie on the Beltline” asks for Bowie fans to “let your freak flag fly” and notes that you can dress in Bowie garb or “come as you are.”

The event will kick off at 3 p.m. Sunday starting at the Meadow at Piedmont Park, behind Park Tavern. It is suggested that participants take MARTA to the Midtown station and walk to the gathering spot.

Musicians and face-painters are encouraged to join in the parade and candles and/or lighters will also be hoisted in the Starman’s honor.
