GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.
Kevin Whitley, Stockbridge
1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach? "The most memorable game would probably be my first as a head coach [at North Springs in 2001] when we went down to face a really good Washington-Wilkes team and came away with a [23-20] victory. Channing Crowder put us on his back and led us to victory." [Crowder became an All-America linebacker at Florida and played six seasons in the NFL with the Dolphins.]
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why? "I would want my son to play for Frank Stephens [of Ware County] or Nick Davis [of Spalding]. Both of them do it the right way and demand that their players play with great effort."
3. What is your favorite saying/motto? "Play to Win!"
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? "They incorporated the spring game back in."
