Valdosta and Lowndes each lost by more than 20 points on the same day for the first time in history last week. Valdosta lost to Camden County 31-10, while Lowndes lost to Colquitt County 42-20. It did happen once before that each lost by at least 20. On Nov. 15, 1974, Central of Thomasville beat Lowndes 41-0, and Westover beat Valdosta 34-14. Valdosta lost by 20 or more points four times during that 1974 season, which was memorable for its first-year head coach and first-year quarterback. Neither would lose by 20 points again while at Valdosta. Who were they? (Answer Wednesday)
Answer to Monday's question: Paul Standard of St. Pius has the most coaching victories at his alma mater among active coaches with 132.
