Two of the state's longest winning streaks by one school over another were extended last week. Lincoln County defeated Warren County for the 41st consecutive time. That is a state record. Brooks County defeated Berrien for the 23rd straight time, although barely, 28-27. That is tied for the 15th-longest streak all-time, but tied for third on the list below of still-active streaks in series that are being played out in 2015. This list does not include active streaks that aren't being contested this year, such as Thomasville vs. Albany. (Thomasville has won 37 straight, most recently in 2011.) The longest streak that was interrupted this season was Griffin's 22-game winning streak against Jonesboro. Most conspicuous on this list is Northside of Warner Robins and Houston County. The two are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in Class AAAAA this season and slated to meet Nov. 6. Northside has won 17 straight in that series.
