Douglass is 5-3 this season after winning just five games in the previous six seasons combined (a 5-55 slump, to be exact). The Astros' recent history resulted in the computer Maxwell Ratings giving Douglass a 0-percent chance of making the playoffs this season. Now, with two games left, Maxwell says the Astros' chances are up to 64.3 percent. Douglass will need to beat Therrell this week, then probably Jackson of Atlanta next week in a Region 5-AAA play-in game. Below are the 20 Georgia teams that are probably going to make the playoffs this season after being given less than a 25-percent chance in the preseason. The preseason percentage is on the left. The current odds are in parentheses.
