Brookwood, Perry and Apalachee are looking for new head coaches after resignations and retirements in recent days.

Brookwood's Mark Crews, who won a Class AAAAA championship at the Gwinnett County school in 2010, had retired from teaching earlier this year but remained for a final season on Brookwood's sidelines. His 2-8 finish in 2014 was the only losing campaign for Crews since he took the job in 2002. His record was 112-48. Crews had come to Brookwood with coach Dave Hunter in 1987 and was part of the 1996 state-championship team.

At Perry, Erik Soliday has stepped down after two seasons. Perry finished 1-9 in 2014. Soliday won state championships at Americus in 2000 and 2001. He also coached at Turner County (1989-96 and 2004-12) and Henry County (1997-98).

Shane Davis has resigned at Apalachee after 10 seasons. Davis was 48-59 in a county, Barrow, where football success has been fleeting. His 2009 team won Region 8-AAAA and lost to Griffin in the quarterfinals.
