A new bridge will be built over a creek on Garner Road, and Five Forks Trickum Road will benefit from several improvements under contracts approved this week in Gwinnett County.
Both projects were awarded to low-bidder CMES, and both will be funded by the 2009 SPLOST.
The projects will also include sidewalk, curb and drainage improvements.

The $3.4 million Garner Road bridge project, south of Lilburn, will replace an existing structure over Garner Creek and raise the roadway to improve sight distance.
The $816,000 safety and alignment project on Five Forks Trickum Road runs between Lake Lucerne Road and Timberland Drive. New sidewalks on the south side will connect Lake Lucerne to an existing sidewalk near the Silver Hill subdivision.
The new left turn lane will serve the Old Dominion subdivision.
The Garner Road bridge project will take about 20 months to complete.
The Five Forks Trickum project should take about 6 months.
