More than 100 people were inside South Central Calhoun High School in Lake City, Iowa, on Sunday when a tornado struck, tearing off the building's roof, WHO-TV reports.
The shocking scene was captured on video by resident Tim Klatt.

Those in the school sought shelter in the basement. No injuries were reported.

"The lights went off, and everyone's ears kind of popped," Dave Birks, a coach at the school, told the Des Moines Register. "They say a tornado sounds like a freight train, and that lasted only 5 or 10 seconds."
