If you’ve got outdoor plans on Labor Day, better do it early. Rain is going to move into the area early in the afternoon, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.

“Earlier is better, because showers and storms will become more numerous beginning around midday and then we’ll start to see those expand as we head to the afternoon and into the evening,” Nitz said. Expect mostly cloudy conditions with a 60 percent chance of rain on Monday, Nitz said. On Tuesday, you can expect more of the same. Rain chances will again be 60 percent.

The good news: rain should hold temperatures down to the mid 80s, through Tuesday, Nitz said. “We get a little bit drier and brighter with a few hit or miss showers through the rest of the week,” he added.

Temperatures will be back up in to the upper 80s by Thursday, he said.
