Springlike weather is back.

And by the time rush hour hits, temperatures will be near 80 degrees, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Temperatures were 76 degrees in Atlanta, 66 in Blairsville and 79 in Griffin just after 2:10 p.m. Thursday.

They will reach a high of 79 by 4 p.m. in Atlanta, then start to decrease after sunset at 6:50 p.m., Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

The average high this time of year is 70 degrees.

Highs are expected to reach 82 degrees Friday, 83 Saturday, 84 Sunday and 84 Monday.

For Sunday, that would mean record-breaking temperatures, Channel 2 reported. The current record for that day is 83 degrees, set in 1998.

“Halloween will be dry and very warm,” Minton said. “No rain on the trick-or-treaters.”
