The National Baseball Hall of Fame plaques of Bobby Cox, Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine were on display at Turner Field Saturday. The items were on loan from the museum.

The three plaques were in a hallway outside manager Fredi Gonzalez’s office in the afternoon before being moved to the fan concourse. Several Braves players and team employees lined up to take photos of the btronze plaques.

“You get goose bumps when you see the plaques,” Gonzalez said. “I thought they were duplicates but they are the real ones. It’s almost like the Stanley Cup when they take it around.”

The plaques were on display as part of Braves’ Alumni Weekend. Maddux was on hand Saturday to take part in the alumni softball game. Team (Sid) Bream defeated Team (Chipper) Jones 6-5 in the game called after 4-1/2 innings due to time.

“It’s fun to come out and see the guys and kind of reconnect a little bit,” Jones said. “I wasn’t really expected to come out and play in this but why not? I’ve been out with my sons quite a bit this spring, throwing them BP and running around with them.”
