Braves honor longtime coach on jerseys

The Braves will be wearing a patch on jerseys to honor longtime coach Bobby Dews.

The "Dewsy" patch will be worn on jerseys on the left sleeve this season.

Dews, who retired in 2012 after spending 53 years in baseball - 37 with the Braves,  died in December at age 76.

An image of Dews also will be visible along the outfield wall at Champion Stadium in the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The Braves' uniform has some updated features this spring. It includes a road-side sign on the right sleeve designated for the Grapefruit League and an updated logo on the cap.

Braves open spring games against the Baltimore Orioles March 1 at home.
