Yes, that was a dog in the driver's seat of that rolling semi
As dog stories go, this one is pretty good.
Customers at a Kwik Trip shop along Highway 169 in Minnesota turned their heads as a tractor-trailer that had been idling began moving without a driver after apparently popping into gear Friday afternoon.
The truck rolled all the way across the parking lot of a trailer sales business, then across the street and, finally, over a curb, where it was stopped by a passerby who saw what was happening and hopped into the truck -- only to find a dog sitting in the driver's seat.
Nobody was injured, but the the semi did hit a parked car near the shop's gas pumps and also knocked over a tree.
Police Cmdr. Dan Schisel sais an accident report was taken but he did not offer many details. He did confirm, however, the dog was a Labrador retriever.
The dog looked a bit stunned in the photo snapped by gas station customer David Stegora and published in the Mankato Free Press.
A semi-truck crossed North River Drive and jumped the curb near a Kwik Trip Friday afternoon. The driver? A yellow Labrador retriever.
