A well-known local who dresses up as Jesus is praying for a miracle.
He’s on an epic quest for a selfie with Pope Francis.
‘Philly Jesus’ is a local character who dresses up as Jesus, performs baptisms at a local park and poses for photos around town. He has active Twitter and Instagram accounts.
His real name is Michael Grant. He was arrested last year on a disorderly conduct charge after police say he was soliciting tips from passerby while ice skating in full Jesus garb. In total, he's been arrested over a dozen times.
Grant says he dresses up as Jesus after a religious conversion helped him fight substance abuse issues.
