In recent years, Spam lovers have come out of hiding to proclaim their affinity for the often maligned product.
Now, they have a rallying point.
The "SPAMERICAN Tour" kicked off in Los Angeles and will hit a dozen cities this spring and summer with samples, recipes, and a chance to share the love.
At each location, local chefs will be asked to join in and create their own Spam specialty. One such treat is Food Network celebrity chef Sunny Anderson's Coconut Spam Spears with Spicy Pineapple Chutney. "For many years now, I have been a fan of the SPAM® brand," Anderson told Paste magazine. "It's flavor and versatility lends itself to so many different cooking styles and recipes."
