The dog got loose and went missing during the trip. Melinda Fairnot, Rosco’s owner, posted flyers and canvassed the area but had no luck and was forced to return to Georgia without her beloved pet.
On Sunday, Animal Control officials received a report of a dog running loose off Southwest Becker Road. Officer Lisa Brown picked up Rosco and a security chip revealed the dog belonged to Fairnot.
Fairnot left her home in Hinesville, Ga., on Monday morning and was to be reunited with Rosco around noon at the Port St. Lucie Animal Control office.
