Atlanta police have charged a driver with vehicular homicide in a Sunday afternoon wreck that left a Marietta motorcyclist dead.

Police spokeswoman Kim Jones said Kendrick Justin Hamilton was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound in the 2600 block of Buford Highway in northeast Atlanta when he attempted to turn left into a private driveway.

“When Hamilton made the left turn, he failed to yield the right-of-way and caused a motorcyclist to collide with his vehicle’s passenger side rear quarter panel,” Jones said.

The motorcyclist, identified Monday by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as 24-year-old Terrance Hwang, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Hamilton was charged with homicide by vehicle and failure to yield, according to Jones.
