A cold, windy and cloudy start will kick off the second half of the weekend. It’s expected to be chilly throughout the day as a cold front quickly moves through parts of North and Middle Georgia.
Overnight temperatures were expected to dip into the high 20s and low 30s. The northeast Georgia mountain region and possibly metro Atlanta could see a passing flurry by the morning, Channel 2 Action News meteorologists Eboni Deon and Jennifer Lopez said Saturday.
A chilly breeze blowing at 10-20 mph will greet those heading out in the morning. Skies are expected to clear up by noon and temperatures will continue to rise throughout the day peaking at 47, according to Deon.
“It’s going to be another sunshine filled day but turning colder,” she said. “High temperatures won’t make it out of the forties.
As the week begins, temperatures will rise to the high 60s again by Tuesday.

Major construction could slow you down if you hit the roadways. Save yourself time by avoiding the ongoing roadwork along several busy thoroughfares Sunday.
In Cobb County, lanes on Macland Road will be shut down most of the day to allow for a road resurfacing project, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
There will be “rolling” closures all day on Powder Springs Road in Cobb between Sandtown and Macland roads. Crews will be raising manholes and adjusting traffic signal loops as part of a $2.4-million project, DOT said.
Fulton and DeKalb will also see “rolling” lane closures in two-mile increments overnight all weekend on I-85 from Midtown to Clairmont Road. GDOT plans to replace the pavement markings on the road and install safety equipment.
