Georgia’s presidential voting begins in two weeks

Georgia’s next election may be Nov. 8, but the voting process actually begins two weeks from now when absentee ballots for the presidential election begin going out to voters.

You can request the ballot now from your county registrar. And if you need to register to vote, the state’s deadline ahead of the election is Oct. 11.

How to register, vote in Georgia

Absentee ballots will begin going out to Georgia voters Sept. 20 ahead of the state's Nov. 8 presidential election. Any registered voter can request a mail-in absentee ballot, either through his or her local county registrar or through the Georgia Secretary of State Office's website (www.sos.ga.gov).

If you want to cast a ballot in person, early voting begins Oct. 17 statewide. Check with your local elections office to see where to go.

Anyone can confirm his or her voter status online through the Secretary of State Office's online "my voter page" website (www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do). If you need to register:
