An officer who had just finished directing school traffic was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon.

Fulton County Schools spokeswoman Susan Hale said the officer around 4:30 p.m. was walking back toward a school building after directing traffic at Camp Creek Middle when he was struck.

Hale said the officer was conscious and alert after being hit and did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, but was taken to Atlanta Medical Center for evaluation after complaining of pain in his left leg.

She added that it is unknown if any charges will be filed against the driver.
