A plane crashed Friday afternoon at an air show in Stuart, Florida, killing one person.

The crash happened at Witham Field, where the Audi Stuart Air Show is set to begin Friday, according to Treasure Coast Newspapers.

Martin County fire officials said the pilot was running a practice routine when the plane went nose down into the runway. Witnesses reported seeing a large plume of black smoke at the crash site.

This is Florida’s second consecutive plane crash in as many days. On Thursday, two people were killed when their plane crashed into an SUV in Ocala, Florida. The plane had just departed from Ocala International Airport.

The single-engine Piper-28 went down minutes after takeoff Wednesday morning, slamming into the top floor of a DeKalb County townhouse. Wreckage of the small aircraft was scattered over half a mile.
