A 36-year-old Pickens County man is accused of possessing child pornography, the GBI said Thursday.
Thomas Rodriguez, 36, of Fairmount, was arrested Wednesday and charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of children for possession of child pornography after his home was searched, GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang said.
Reports to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding emails containing suspected child pornography prompted the GBI to initiate the investigation, which led them to Rodriguez’ West Destiny Drive home. Forensic investigators found the suspected porn on computers inside the home, Lang said.
Rodriguez was arrested at his home and transported to the Pickens County jail, where he remained Thursday.
Fairmount is located about 20 miles north of Canton.
