DeKalb County firefighters worked quickly tonight to contain a fire to a single room of a hotel.
The fire was reported shortly before 7 p.m. at the Budgetel Inn & Suites in the 2800 block of Panola Road, according to Capt. Eric Jackson. Crews arrived to find a ground-floor room fully involved, Jackson said.
“They really did a great job, while at the same time evacuating all of the residents of the hotel,” Jackson said.
Investigators had not determined the cause of the fire, which damaged a room used for storage, Jackson said.
No one was injured.
