Flippen Elementary School Principal Toni Obenauf and Assistant Principal Johnny Harrell fulfilled a promise to students this week and dressed up like Egyptians. Students at the Henry County school had been challenged to purchase 800 books at the schools annual fall Scholastic Book Fair in September. The fair’s theme was Book Fair Oasis: a cool place for hot books. More than 1,400 books were sold. The proceeds will go to the media center to buy new books and a subscription to the online research database Pebblego. Flippen Elementary is in McDonough and has about 730 students in grades pre-k-5.
