A private-public emergency communications partnership in North Fulton has won an unprecedented seal of aproval.
The Chattahoochee River 9-1-1 Authority received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. ChatComm is operated and staffed by IXP Corp. and becomes the first outsourced, private-sector communications center to win the designation.
The CALEA accreditation process included a self-evaluation, plus a review of policies, procedures, management and operations by an independent assessment team. The agency was formed by Sandy Springs and Johns Creek in 2009 to provide emergency dispatch and 9-1-1 service.
