The GOP front-runners will apparently be part of the next Republican debate.
An early-morning tweet from Donald Trump said that CNBC agreed to the demands of both Trump and Ben Carson to keep the debate to two hours including commercials, CNN reported.
Trump made the announcement of the format change on his Twitter page.
In addition to the two-hour limit, Trump, in a letter to CNBC's Washington bureau chief, requested that candidates be permitted to speak directly to the camera during opening and closing statements, The Associated Press reported.
The opening statements had been removed from CNBC's proposed format, NBC News reported.
CNBC has yet to confirm that the changes proposed by Trump and Carson have been adopted.
Trump and Carson, who are number 1 and 2 respectively in nation-wide polls, threatened to not take part in the debate on Oct. 28.
