A Massachusetts State Police trooper went above and beyond after responding to an accident.

Trooper Sullivan, of the Newbury barracks, recently responded to a crash on 95 southbound.

It was described as a routine situation, except the driver had a Great Dane in the back seat of the car.

"I was at a loss ... Cowboy would have lost his mind if I kept him in the car while it was towed," the driver wrote in a thank you letter to Massachusetts State Police.

"Trooper Sullivan took the initiative to help me ... he allowed Cowboy in the back of his cruiser and dropped us off at a location right off the highway ... so that my husband could easily find us and pick us up," the letter continued.

"I keep looking at Cowboy, thinking about how horrible it would have been if he was stuck in my car while it was towed," the driver added, mentioning how Great Danes have a reputation for being sensitive.
